Az utolérhetetlen mítoszteremtő és nyelvész életműve előtt tisztelegnek. A programok tartalmaznak színpadi előadásokat, humoros jeleneteket, nyereményjátékokat, játékos ismeretterjesztő kvízeket. A díszvendég a Torontóból érkező Ted Nasmith világhírű Tolkien-illusztrátor lesz. Délután táncházat rendeznek, este pedig fellép a Bran együttes. Kiemelt program a Magyar Tolkien Társaság Alda-rion és Erendisz című kétfelvonásos színpadi művének bemutatója. Az esti program része a társaság képzőművészeti pályázatának díjkiosztója és a Tolkien-díj átadása.A helyszínen meg lehet venni Tolkiennek a magyar nyelvterületen elérhető majd minden könyvét magyar fordításokat és eredeti angol nyelvű köteteteket is. "Long Expected Party The Hungarian Tolkien Society has kindly invited me to their 1-day event scheduled for January 8th, 2006 in Budapest. It was not confirmed until fairly recently, so my apologies for this late notice!
I will be presenting a slide talk on new and recent works, singing a few of my own songs, and will sign books and etc., as usual. I look very forward to this, my first visit, to the Hungarian Capital!"

To the Professor! I'd like to belatedly post this tribute to the wonderful folks I met in Hungary in early January this year. Thanks for giving me such a fabulous, warm welcome! Once again I was deeply grateful for the extraordinary outpouring of affection for me and my artwork (and my music!), and for all the many arrangements and planning that went into my Guest appearance. Hungarians are second to none in their devotion to Tolkien, and Long Expected Party ought to be recognized as one of the great celebrations of Tolkien available, appealing to fans from 6 to 60!

I'd also been told ahead of time that Budapest is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit, and I was not disappointed. Thank you for including time for me to see some of the city's great landmarks--all of it, the city and the friends I met--more than enough to ensure I make it a priority to return!

Lastly, a very special word of thanks to Kriszta and Csaba in particular, for Grace Under Pressure. They were chief among those who rose to the challenge of more complicated than expected audio/visual requirements, and they also coped (especially Kriszta) with an unexpected flight delay, arranging extra transportation, hotel, and a thoroughly enjoyable evening's outing that even included a birthday cake for this Aquarian!
