Creative Autumn Meeting 2018

The next Creative Autumn Meeting ("CAM" or "KÖMT" in Hungarian) takes place on 19-23 October, 2018 (from Friday afternoon to Tuesday morning). If you think you might participate, please answer a few questions and help us plan the programme accordingly.

CAM 2018

The programme will consist of lectures and workshops about various subjects: Tolkienite or creative or anything the participants know about and want to share. The basic language of the programme is Hungarian, but we will try to make translation available where possible. You are also very welcome to give a workshop or lecture (1.5 or 3 hours) of your choice: creative, cultural, scientific, sportly or Tolkienite—if you are uncertain whether your idea would fit or not, tell us and we will discuss the possibilities.

The meeting is usually attended by about a hundred people, mostly members of our community but also a few newcomers. It is a perfect opportunity to meet many of us and engage in different activities together. Traditionally, this used to be our most international event: since 2008 we have received guests from Slovenia, Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. We would love to bring back this tradition!

Venue

The event will take place in a school building in Seregélyes. (Google Maps >>>) The travel from Budapest to the venue is about 1 hour by car and about 2 hours by bus/train. (If you use public transport, we are happy to help you with all the details.) Basic accommodation is provided in the classrooms of the school, so you need your own sleeping bag - bringing your own mattress is useful as well, but we can also provide some. (If that is not comfortable enough for you, there are private accommodation options in the area as well.)

We can provide lunch and you can buy coffee and toast at the venue, but there will be a microwave for heating your own food as well. Please bring your own plates and cutlery.

Programme

For the most part of the programme, you will be able to choose an activity for yourself of several parallel options. There are three types of these activities:
- You can choose one main activity of several sessions, which we call "order": these usually have something (e.g. exhibition, play, concert) to show to the other participants in the end.
- There will be some "workshops": this usually means one session of some activity which is either creative or perhaps tolkienite at least in some obscure way. (During the full time of the event there will be time for three different workshops.)
- The third type has an even stranger name, but let's call them "lectures": they can be about any subject somebody wants to share their knowledge of (e.g. their work, hobbies, or travel experiences). You will be able to choose one or two of these.

We are happy to give you more information about any of them which may seem interesting to you.
